ABOUT US
For more than 40 years, the Bemidji Community Food Shelf has been a place where neighbors help neighbors.

What began in 1982 as six local churches working together has grown into a community-wide effort supported by volunteers, donors, businesses, churches, staff, and community partners who believe everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food with dignity.

Today, thousands of families shop at BCFS each year in a welcoming, grocery store-style setting where customers choose the foods that are right for their families. Every meal shared, every shelf stocked, and every fresh vegetable grown on our farm is possible because this community continues to show up for one another.

We're grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, every donor who gives generously, every staff member who serves with compassion, and every customer who trusts us to be part of their journey. Together, we're building something much bigger than a food shelf—we're building a stronger community where neighbors care for neighbors.

Thank you for being part of our story.
