Hello, I'm Allison

Interim Volunteer Coordinator

Our Volunteer Coordinator brings the energy that keeps BCFS humming. She welcomes, trains, and supports the incredible volunteers who make our work possible, helping everyone feel confident, connected, and ready to serve. Her leadership helps create the warm, welcoming experience our community counts on.

Allison's Story

Allison joined the Bemidji Community Food Shelf as a volunteer in March 2025 and is now serving as our Volunteer Coordinator. Before coming to BCFS, she volunteered at the Stevens County Food Shelf while studying Environmental Studies and Studio Art at the University of Minnesota Morris, where she also researched food insecurity.

She loves building connections with volunteers and helping create a welcoming place where neighbors help neighbors.

When she's not at the food shelf, you'll likely find Allison oil painting, reading, spending time with her three-year-old niece, or caring for her cats and ever-growing collection of houseplants. She's also a devoted bird enthusiast—most of her artwork features birds—and if you meet her in person, there's a good chance she'll be wearing her favorite color: blue.

Be sure to say hello when you see Allison around the food shelf!
