Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I'm eligible?

The current guidelines to get food are set at 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Which means a family of 4 making up to $96,450 qualifies, or a family of 2 making up to $63,450 qualifies for support. You can find the full income chart here.

What days are you open?

The Food Shelf is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please arrive by 2:50 PM at the latest to allow enough time to check in and shop.

Please see our Contact page for a list of holiday closures.

What if I can't make it in?

If you're unable to make it into the food shelf in person, you may designate a trusted person (called a proxy) to come to BCFS and pick up groceries on your behalf.

If you need additional support or have questions about your options, please reach out to us at 218-444-6580 or bcfs@paulbunyan.net

What can I expect when I come in to get food?
